Belgium falls to the 27th place of the Global Innovation Index in 2017

Belgium falls to the 27th place of the global innovation index, yielding 4 places compared to 2016

The index measures the innovation performance based on 81 indicators that concern both input (regulatory framework, education, infrastructure, research and development) and output (patent applications, knowledge dissemination). Belgium scores moderately in both sub-categories.

The Global Innovation Index, released this year in its tenth edition, is being drafted by the French Business School Insead, the American Cornell University and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), based in Switzerland.
